Review:
When David moves to his new apartment, after his wife death, the last thing he want to found there is company, but surprinsingly Elizabeth shows up with the idea that the apartment was hers...until she disappears right in front his eyes. He is convinced she is a spirit, on the other hand she is convinced she is still alive.

Unfortunately things take a turn for the worse when the hospital and Elizabeth's sister follow her wishes to not artificially prolong life and take her off life support.

Mark Ruffalo’s performances is amazingly perfect, he surprised as every time with his unexpectedly actions, but at the end, he undoubtly touched our hearts with the most unexpectedly, beautiful and romantc love action of all times.

This film change the wrong thought that love depends on destiny and teachs us that, on the contrary, DESTINY depends on LOVE, specially if you love with every peace of your heart.

The ex girlfriends return he to be reminded how he is with women and that does not have to continue because it is not a good attitude in the life.

101 Dalmatians

Book/ Film: 101 Dalmatas
Genre: Animation/ Fantasy
Author/ Director: Clyde Geronimi
Characters/ Actors: Rod Taylor (Pongo)
Cate Bauer (Perdita)
Betty Lou Gerson (Cruella De Vil)
Ben Wright (Roger)
Lisa Davis (Anita)

Review:

Pongo is a dalmatian that lives in a London bachelor flat with his owner Roger Radcliffe, a songwriter. Bored with bachelor life, Pongo decides to find a wife for Roger and a mate for himself. While watching various female dog-human pairs out the window, he spots the perfect couple, a woman named Anita and her female dalmatian, Perdita. He quickly gets Roger out of the house and drags him through the park to arrange a meeting. Pongo accidentally causes both Roger and Anita to fall into a pond, but it works out well as the couple falls in love. Both the human couple and the dog couple marry.
Later, Perdita gives birth to 15 puppies. One almost dies, but Roger is able to revive it by rubbing it in a towel (because of which, they would name the pup, 'Lucky'). That same night, they are visited by Cruella De Vil, a wealthy former schoolmate of Anita's. She offers to buy the entire litter of puppies for a large sum, but Roger says they are not selling any of the puppies. Weeks later, she hires Jasper and Horace Badun to steal all of the puppies. When Scotland Yard is unable to prove she stole them or find the puppies, Pongo and Perdita use the "Twilight Bark", normally a canine gossip line, to ask for help from the other dogs in England.
Colonel, an old sheepdog, along with his compatriots Captain, a gray horse, and Sergeant Tibbs, a tabby cat, find the puppies in a place called Hell Hall (A.K.A The De Vil Place), along with other Dalmatian puppies that Cruella had purchased from various dog stores. Tibbs learns the puppies are going to be made into dog-skin fur coats and the Colonel quickly sends word back to London. Pongo and Perdita immediately leave London to retrieve their puppies. They arrive just as Horace and Jasper are about to kill the puppies. While the adult dogs attack the two men, Colonel and Tibbs guide them from the house.
After a happy reunion with their own puppies, the Pongos realize there are 84 other puppies with them. Horrified at Cruella's plans, they decide to adopt all of the puppies, certain that Roger and Anita would never reject them. The dogs begin making their way back to London, aided by other animals along the way, with Cruella and the Baduns giving chase. In one town, they cover themselves with soot so they appear to be labrador retrievers, then pile inside a moving van going back to London. As the van is leaving, melting snow clears off the soot and Cruella sees them. She follows the van in her car and rams it, but the Baduns, trying to cut off the van from above, end up colliding with her. Both vehicles crash into a deep ravine. Cruella yells in frustration as the van drives away.

Back in London, Roger and Anita are attempting to celebrate Christmas and Roger's first big hit, a song about Cruella, but they miss their canine friends. Suddenly barking is heard outside and after their nanny opens the door, the house is filled with dogs. After wiping away more of the soot, the couple is delighted to realize their companions have returned home. They decide to use the money from the song to buy a large house in the country so they can keep all 101 Dalmatians.

In my opinion, 101 dalmatians is a great Walt Disney film because it is very creative . Meeting people with dogs and showing the great relationship among them is very interesting. I love this movie and it´s highly recommended for all.

Review:
Year 30 AD. In the Roman province of Palestine, an obscure Jewish carpenter named Jesus of Nazareth began to teach publicly and to proclaim the arrival of the "kingdom of God." For centuries, the Jewish people had expected the appearance of a promised deliverer known as the Messiah-a figure who would restore their ancient dignity, and free their sacred homeland from all evil and suffering. In the minds of many, Jesus appeared to be the Messiah. Surrounded by a core group of twelve disciples, Jesus began to attract a massive following of people of Galilee and Judea, who eventually praised him as their Messiah and King. At the same time, Jesus also had many enemies in Jerusalem. The Sanhedrin, a governing senate composed of the Jewish priests and Pharisees, conspired to put Jesus to death. With the help of Judas Iscariot, a member of the inner circle of Jesus, the Sanhedrin succeeded in arresting Jesus, handing the Roman secular authorities on unsubstantiated charges of treason against Rome. Although Jesus explained that his kingdom was heavenly and spiritual, the Roman procurator Pontius Pilate, faced with the possibility of a riot, ordered that Jesus of the city and crucified as a common criminal.

In my opinion the movie "Passion of Christ" relates quite well the passion and death of Jesus, in his last hours of life. I think it also shows too many violent scenes, where the author's goal to create a totally realistic movie about what happened at that time.

The Turn of the Screw

Review:

The novel is about a governess who accepts to look after two sweet children, Flora and Miles, in a mansion called Bly.
The owner of the mansion is the children's uncle. He doesn't live there. He never visit them.
When the govermess starts working she gets on very well with the landlady Mrs. Grose.
Along the time, this woman realises the children have a strange behaviour, she doesn't know why.
One day, different ghost appear, Mrs Jessel their last governess and Doctor Quint the man in charge. Both of them are dead.
These ghosts follow the children, when the governess realises of it she tries to help them but she does't know how to do it.
She discusses the subject with Mrs. Grose and comes to the conclusion those apparitions want to take a children with them.
At lost she decides to face Dr, Quint and he leaves for ever . Just at thet moment she sees Dr Quint's soul is in Miles, when she fixes her eyes on him the boy dies.

I think it's a very interesting book because i was anxious to go on reading to know the end. What i liked most about the plot is that the governess knew the real problem little by little.
Although i wouldn't choose a fantastic tale to read if i had to, i enjoyed it.

Alexander

Book/ Film: ALEXANDER
Genre: Action
Author/ Director: Oliver Stone
Characters/ Actors: Colin Farrell Angelina Jolie Val Kilmer Anthony Hopkins

Review:

The movie is based on the life of Alexander the Great, King of Macedon, who conquered Asia Minor, Persia and part of Ancient India.

The story begins in 356 BC with Ptolemy I Soter, who narrates throughout the film. We see Alexander's life and the relation between his parents. Alexander grows up with his mother Olympias and his tutor Aristotle, where he finds interest in love, honor, music, exploration, poetry and military combat. His relationship with his father is destroyed when Philip marries with Eurydice.

After Philip is assassinated, Alexander becomes king of Macedonia and Greece. Also shown are Alexander's private relationships with his childhood friend Hephaestion and later his wife Roxana. Hephaestion compares Alexander to Achilles, to which Alexander replies that, if he is Achilles, Hephaestion must be his Patroclus who was the Achilles's lover. When Hephaestion mentions that Patroclus died first, Alexander pledges that, if Hephaestion should die first, he will follow him into the afterlife. Hephaestion shows extensive jealousy when he sees Alexander with Roxana and deep sadness when he marries her, going so far as to attempt to keep her away from him after Alexander murders Cleitus the Black in India. After Hephaestion succumbs to an unknown illness either by chance or perhaps poison, Alexander distances himself from his wife, despite her pregnancy, believing that she has killed Hephaeston.

After conquering Babylon, Alexander admits that Hephaestion is the only person whom he loves and dies less than three months after Hephaeston, keeping his promise that he would follow him.

This movie is great to see if you follow and like the history, but is not for the childrens under 16 years.

- Cast: Asa Butterfield, David Thewlis, Vera Farmiga, Sheila Hancock and Rupert Friend

Review:

This film tells the story about the childhood of an eight years old boy, Bruno, who is son of a nazi officer. Full of innocence and questions without answers, he faces terrible experiences.
When Bruno’s father is promoted, all the family is forced to leave their home and move to Berlin, near a death camp where his father commands all the movements and actions. As a consequence of all that terrible surrounding, Bruno’s parents have lots of quarrels and differents opinion about how they feel about Hitler, and the horrifying responsabilities they have over Jewish people. Although his mother doesn’t agree totally with the nazi régime and his father does, they don’t want Bruno to know the tragical reality they have to live, so he isnt’t allowed to go further than the fence indicates.
This prohibition causes a mistery in Bruno, so every day he visits the garden and sit before the fence, thinking about what that weird farm is. This accion becomes a routine, until one day, he meets on the other side of it, a Jewish child, Samuel, whose appearence is a little bit strange to Bruno, because he is all dirty, thin, hairless, and without teeth. Immediately, Samuel and Bruno become great friends, although they know they are not allowed to talk. They both live the reality as an adventure, and can’t understand why there is a separation between them.
In my opinion, as a conclusion, “ the boy in the striped pyjamas” is a really catching movie, because it shows how dificult was life in that time, when Hitler had the power. Besides, it is admirable the inocence of both kids, and how they feel no discrimination. It’s a film about friendship and loyalty. Besides, what I liked the most is that the film director succeeded in creating the atmosphere of that time, It was really credible and sad at the same time.

Macbeth

Book:Macbeth
Genre: Drama/Action
Author/ Director: Shakespeare
Characters/ Actors: Duncan, Malcom, Macbeth, Donalbain, Macduff, Lady Macbeth, Banquo, Lenox, Ross, Siward, Siward's Son, Three Witches.

Review:
"Macbeth" is a play about greed and power. The tragedy begins with the prophecy of three witches who said that Macbeth was going to be the new King of Scotland. Immediately, Macbeth begins to harbour ambitions of becoming king.
When Macbeth tells his wife about his meeting with the witches, Lady Macbeth persuades him to follow a plan to murder the King (Duncan). He invited Duncan to his castle to spend the night and celebrate their victory in war. On the night of the king's visit, Macbeth kills Duncan.
Lady Macbeth takes charge of the situation and in accordance with her plan, she frames Duncan's sleeping servants for the murder by planting bloody daggers on them.
Macbeth assumes the throne as the new King os Scotland as a kinsman of the dead king.
Besides, returning to the beggining, the three witches also told to Banquo (Macbeth's war partner) that his Son will be King too...Wich, for Macbeth, that was a threat he had to take care of.

With these little introduction the play continues with lots of bloody scenes and it's been over the centuries, and in my opinion; it's entertainning, original and exciting from the beggining 'till the end ... It's been also adapted to film, television, opera, novels, comic books, and other media.

Genre: comedy/drama
Author/ Director: Clyde Geronimi

Review:

The Hundred and One Dalmatians, or the Great Dog Robbery is a 1956 children's novel by Dodie Smith which is made film years later. In my opinion is one of most beautiful movies for children I have ever seem. What is most, I know almost the whole dialog. It has an excellent music and a good and hard work of the creators.

This story is about a pair of Dalmatians who are able to think and act like humans do. This is the most interesting and funny thing of the story: how are their reactions and thoughts.

Pongo and Missis Pongo, the dogs,
feel in love and have 15 puppies together. They live with the newly married Mr and Mrs Dearly and their two nannies in a very nice and warm house. All was happiness until one day the puppies disappear.

The humans were desperate and went to the police for help. A few hours later, Mr Dearly realized that the Cruella de Vil, an intimidating woman and her wife’s boss, could be the kidnapper because she hates animals and love fur coats of dogs skins.

With the help of other dogs and all sort of animals of the country, Pongo and Missis Pongo could discovered were the pupils were. They treated to explain it to the Dearlys but fail. So the dogs decide to run away and find themselves.

After a journey across country, they meet lots of animals which help the looking of their pupils and other ones which Cruella had enclosed in a big mansion far away.

Fortunately the story has a happy ending and noone is hurt. 101 are discovered and kipped by Mr ans Mrs Dearly.

Death becomes her

Film: Death becomes her (1992)
Genre: Comedy
Director: Robert Zemeckis
Actors: Meryl Streep, Bruce Willis, Goldie Hawn, Isabella Rossellini

Review:

Actress Madeline Ashton (Meryl Streep) and writer Helen Sharp (Goldie Hawn) are long time rivals. Helen's life falls apart when Madeline steals her fiancé, plastic surgeon Ernest Menville (Bruce Willis), and marries him. Helen becomes an obese, depressed woman.

Many years later Ernest become an alcoholic and miserable in his marriage, and he has been reduced to working restoring the looks of celebrities for their funerals. When Madeline and Helen meet again, Helen appears misteriously rejuvenated and thin.
Madeline, jealous of Helen, searchs for help of Lisle von Rhoman (Isabella Rossellini), who claims she has discovered the secret of eternal youth. She offers Madeline a magical potion to reverse the process of aging.
Meanwhile, Helen has seduced Ernest and conspired with him to kill Madeline. Before their elaborate plan can be carried out, Madeline falls down the stairs and breaks her neck, but she gets up and puts her head on straight. Ernest thinks that her resurrection is a miracle, and uses his skills to repair the damage done to Madeline's body.

Helen, thinking that Madeline is dead, arrives at the house, but Madeline shoots Helen. When Helen, with an enormous shotgun wound in her stomach, reawakens, Madeline guesses correctly that Helen was also a customer of Lisle's. The two undead rivals fight, but fail to do any real damage. Finally, the two ladies reconcile their differences and beg Ernest to repair their damaged bodies. Ernest agrees on the condition that he never see them again after the work is done. However, Madeline and Helen discover that his repairs are only temporary. They conspire to make Ernest drink the potion as well. Although Lisle makes an impassioned argument for immortality, Ernest refuses the potion, stating that a life lived forever is worthless.

In trying to escape, Ernest finds himself on the roof of the house. He slips and his suspenders get caught on the rain gutter, swinging him over an open pit. Madeline and Helen implore that he drink the potion so he will survive. Ernest refuses again, lets the potion fall, and then falls from the gutter. With Ernest, Helen and Madeline realize that they are now forced to take care of each other forever.

I think that is a very original movie, it's different from the other typical comedies. It is not a new film, but the effects are perfect for that year, when the technology was more difficult to use than now. Actually, the film won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
The movie is very funny and it's perfect to see in family on a Sunday afternoon!

Patch Adams

"PATCH ADAMS"

-Film: “Patch Adams
-Genre: Drama.
-Director: Tom Shadyac
-Authors: Steve Oedekerk (based on “Good Health is a Laughing Matter”, by Patch Adams and Maureen Myland
-Cast: Robin Williams (Patch Adams), Monica Potter (Carin), Daniel London (Truman), Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Mitch), Bob Gunton (Dean Walcott).

- Review:
“Patch Adams” tells the story of the most special and gifted doctor of all times: Hunter “Patch” Adams. As might have been expected, the movie in question provides viewers with a perfect representation of the most relevant turning-points in the doctor’s life. In fact, at first, the film introduces Patch (Robin Williams) as a man who is hospitalized in a mental institution. Surprisingly, there, he finds a very important purpose of life; that of helping others whatever happens. Right after that, he leaves the institution and decides to go in for medicine, which will allow him to help others professionally. However, once in the medical school, he is taught a traditional method, which advocates a distant attitude towards patients that does not address their personal qualities or needs. Interestingly, Adams is determined to change this situation, as he believes firmly that patients who are suffering enormous pain should be heard and understood. In a few words, he thinks that laughter is the best medicine to undergo hard situations. Moreover, he pays particular attention to those who suffer extremely serious diseases, such as cancer, and tries to make them spent an amazing time, making all their dreams come true. Unfortunately, the authorities and some of his classmates, such as Mitch (Phillip Seymour Hoffman), do not agree with his idea and try to implement strategies to make him drop out his initial purpose. As time goes by, his patients, professors and hospital nurses, begin to appreciate his method of healing the sick. Nevertheless, Patch, with the unconditional help of his friends: Carin (Monica Potter) and Truman (Daniel London), struggles against winds and tides, in order to fulfill his aims. Interestingly, he decides to build his own medical clinic, where a close relationship between doctors and patients is a key element. Unluckily, Patch suffers a huge loss, which devastates him. He thinks that God creates men only to suffer and life does not worth it. As might have been expected, he feels dispirited, but suddenly a colorful butterfly sits on his medical bag. That event makes him regain the passion he once had. After being dismissed from the medical school for a second time, Patch is able to convince the jury in a final speech, by saying that he did his best to help the people that came to him, stating that treating a disease is a win-or-lose situation, but treating a person's spirit always guarantees a positive outcome. Furthermore, he encourages medical students to cultivate relationships with nurses and learn their skills. He also states that death should be treated with dignity and even humor. Finally, the jury in question accepts Patch's medical methods and does not prevent him from graduating.
In general, I believed wholeheartedly that “Patch Adams” is touching, as well as controversial, since it questions the traditional method of healing and the distant relationship between patients and doctors. Furthermore, both actors and actress, especially Robin Williams, offer particularly memorable performances, which are regarded as outstanding.
To sum up, I would like to say that the movie in question relies on a profoundly moving plot, which teaches us that PATIENTS should be treated as PEOPLE; as well as that we should make a great effort to reach our objectives, and we shouldn’t admit defeat just because others want us to do so.

Review:
Marlin and his wife Coral, move into a new home, Coral is eaten by a barracuda along with all of their eggs, except for one.Marlin finds that egg and promises it he will never let anything happen to it, naming it Nemo.
Later, Nemo begins his first day at school, but is frustrated and embarrassed by his overprotective and neurotic father.
Nemo deliberately swims out to open water and he is captured by a diver. As he desperately searches for help, he bumps into Dory who suffers from short-term memory loss
Dory remembers that she can read and, reading the address on the mask, they discover that Nemo has been taken to Sydney.
Marlin and Dory are found by a group of sea turtles who are going to the Australian Current,
As Marlin be friend the turtle Crush he tells some of the sea turtles about his reason for her recovery so his story travel among the sea creatures,.
However, Marlin has a pelican friend called Nigel who takes Marlin and Dory in a a dentist's office were removes Nemo from the tank and puts him in a bag for a present to his niece Darla .
Later When Darla arrives, Nemo pretends to be dead and Marlin and Dory are shocked to see Nemo dead.
After that they and Nigel are thrown out the window, in that moment Gill an other fish helps Nemo escape down the drain of the dentist's sink to the ocean.
Depressed Marlin thanks Dory and tells her he is going home on his own.
When suddenly Dory is reluctant to be left by herself again, claiming that she can remember things better when he is around but Marlin still swims away to go home.
A chance encounter Dory with Nemo jogs her memory of her adventures with Marlin and the two catch up with Marlin and there is a brief and happy reunion. Moments later, Dory is caught in a fishing net along with a school of grouper. Nemo has an idea to save her by telling the fish caught in the net to swim down, a trick the other fish in the tank had tried to use to save him from being scooped up in the dentist's net. Though Marlin is afraid to let him go out of fear of losing him again, he realizes that he has to let Nemo take this chance. The maneuver works, snapping the winch, freeing Dory and the grouper, and Marlin reconciles with Nemo and apologizes for being overprotective.
One day they have returned home, Marlin is able to let Nemo "go have an adventure" at school with his classmates, Marlin also impresses and wins the respect of his neighbors for going across the ocean to find his son, especially after his credibility is enhanced by the appearance of the three sharks.
For me is a really good film because is interesing not only for kids but for adults too.My favorite part is when Nemo cameback and her father and is proud of him and tell her "go have an adventure" , because it make me feel that every family can be happy again.

Series: Greek
Genre: Comedy / Drama
Creator: Patrick Sean Smith
Actors: Scott Michael Foster, Spencer Grammer, Paul James, Jacob Zachar, Jake McDorman.

Review:

Writing about Greek is kind of difficult because it has many interesting points to light out. On one hand, we have the typical American comedy about a group of college students that just wants to have fun. On the other hand, we can notice the deep message that this series want to transmit, the worthiness of friendship, loyalty and even though this story is based on a college campus, the importance of living the “college experience” at its maximum expression.

This series was premiered on July 2007, with a good audience level. At the moment Greek has two completed seasons and is going through the 3rd season. At total it has 53 episodes of about 43 minutes each one. Furthermore, the plot is basically about the life of college students in the modern USA.

Beginning with the particular case of Rusty Cartwright, a new student in his first year of university, considered a “geek” in his high school that tries to get in a fraternity (fraternal social organizations for undergraduate students). He gets in “Kappa Tau” where he meets Cappie, the “director” of that fraternity, and ex-boyfriend of his older sister Casey.
Moreover, the story gets funny spins and makes the viewer find out Greek as an unique piece of art.

In conclusion, Greek is one of my favourite series, but some critics like to point it out as a “non familiar programme” because of it contents of drinking, partying and homosexuality in some cases. For me, it has an special touch of magic... Something that makes the story being so amazingly told, although, I haven’t finished to watch it completely.
