Water for elephants

Film: Water for elephants.
Genre: Romantic.
Director: Francis Lawrence.
Actors: Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.

Review:
Water for elephant is Francis Lawrence. This film is set in the 30s. The protagonists are Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.

When Jacob`s father died, he decided to go away aimlessly. In his way he met the famous Benzini Brother’s circus and Marlena, the owner’s wife and the trainer of Rose, the elephant. This leaded to a typical impossible love story. The climax occurs when the circus´ owner finally found them and the film ends unexpectedly.

The director achieved an excellent thirties´ ambience with great costumes.

Pattinson and Witherspoon play the roles of Jacob and Marlena very consistently and convincingly. In the scene where they finally kiss each other they reach their highest acting level.

In my opinion this mainstream film is very good. I recommend it.

"Just Like Heaven"

Film: Just Like Heaven
Genre: Comedy, romance
Director: Mark Waters
Cast: Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo

Review:
When David moves to his new apartment, after his wife death, the last thing he want to found there is company, but surprinsingly Elizabeth shows up with the idea that the apartment was hers...until she disappears right in front his eyes. He is convinced she is a spirit, on the other hand she is convinced she is still alive.
After a long time trayin to understand things, David agrees to figure out who Elizabeth really is. While they are trying to find some clues together, their reationship changed from resentment to love.
Unfortunately things take a turn for the worse when the hospital and Elizabeth's sister follow her wishes to not artificially prolong life and take her off life support.

Mark Ruffalo’s performances is amazingly perfect, he surprised as every time with his unexpectedly actions, but at the end, he undoubtly touched our hearts with the most unexpectedly, beautiful and romantc love action of all times.

This film change the wrong thought that love depends on destiny and teachs us that, on the contrary, DESTINY depends on LOVE, specially if you love with every peace of your heart.

Walk the Line

Film: Johnny and June

Genre: Drama, musical

Director: James Mangold

Actors: Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Patrick, Dan Beene.

Review:

WALK THE LINE

This is the story about the singer Johnny Cash from his early days in an Arkansas farm to his rise to fame with Sun Records in Memphis. When he grows up, he joins up the army and he is sent to Alemania. When he is twenty two years old he returns to America and stays in Memphis. There he gets married with his girlfriend and starts his musical career, first with gospel music and then he changes to country music where he hilights his powerful voice.
When he starts doing concerts, he meets a singer who he has always admired, June Carter. The distance with his wife takes him to fall in love with her.
During the sixties his success leads him to the drinks and drugs, but June helps him to leave it.
Finally they get married, but they have to go over a lot of problems, and walk the line.
In my opionion, it is a fantastic movie because it has a little bit of everything, it is funny, emotional and romantic.
